The Author of this guide, Shawn Lacy (Arnold) aka Mz Officer, grew up in Houston’s 5th Ward, graduated from Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions and attended Saint Leo University where she obtained a BA in Criminal Justice. She has dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving her country, community and the "Great" State of Texas as a United States Army Soldier and Texas Peace Officer.
Desiring a complete and well-rounded working knowledge of Houston's and surrounding areas Criminal Justice Systems, Shawn worked as a Records Clerk in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Central Records, as a city and rural police officer, a college and school district police officer and as a deputy constable. She also worked as a Gang Task Force, RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) and Truancy Officer. Shawn is a current licensed and practicing Texas Private Investigator alongside her brother, Reginald.
She is the Founder of Mz Officer™®, where she passionately works to “Bridge the Gap between the Community and the Texas Justice System!”
With a love for justice, a passion for seeing people “WIN” and a heart for the human condition, Shawn has been assisting Harris County residents with expunging their criminal records for the past 20 years. She has a multifaceted view of the Texas Justice System. She has not only served in it, but she also has a great-grandfather who was the 178th person to be executed in Texas’s electric chair, a brother who was sentenced to 32 years in
prison as a first-time offender and her youngest brother was murdered in Houston and his case is now a cold case.
